T20 World Cup 2024: Australia v Scotland preview
The 2024 ICC T20 World Cup continues this Sunday morning (AEST) as Australia look to continue their unbeaten start to the tournament when they take on Scotland in St Lucia.
The Aussies enter this match as clear favourites at $1.10 with BoomBet, while the Scots are rank outsiders $7 with Bet365.
In their last match, the Aussies showed their quality as they beat Namibia by nine wickets. Bowling first, they restricted Namibia to just 72 runs due to a team effort led by leg-spinner Adam Zampa, who took 4/12. In reply, Australia took just 5.4 overs to chase down the total as each of the top three went at a strike rate of over 200.
As a result, Australia have now secured their spot in the next round. Paying $3.75 with top cricket bookmakers, they are one of the favourites to win the T20 World Cup.
Expect the Aussies to rotate their squad for this clash, with players such as Josh Inglis, Cameron Green and Ashton Agar all a chance to feature.
Scotland remain unbeaten in this tournament as well after they defeated Oman by seven wickets last Monday. Chasing 150 to win, it was George Munsey (41 off 20) and Brendon McMullen (61* off 31) who did most of the damage as they reeled in the total with 41 balls to spare.
As a result of their opener against England being washed out, Scotland now sit second in the group. While they can still progress if they don’t win, net run rate could determine whether or not the Scots advance.

Australia v Scotland betting predictions
While the Aussies might be tempted to keep this game close in order to knock the English out of the tournament, they should still be far too good. With a clear advantage in all parts of the game, back them in as heavy favourites at $1.10 with BoomBet.
As the third-highest runscorer in the tournament, Australian opener David Warner has silenced any doubts around his form. The Scots are not known for their pace bowling attack, so expect the 37-year-old to be far too strong. With the field up in the powerplay, expect Warner to score quickly on his way to 30 or more runs at $2 with top sports bookmakers.
One of the big surprises of this tournament has been the quality of the Scottish top order — in particular, opener Michael Jones. In the opening match against England he hit 45 not out off just 30 balls, showing what he can do against a quality bowling lineup. Expect another strong innings from the 26-year-old as he scores 20 or more runs at $2.40 with T20 betting sites.
