Archer’s Paradox speeds to big pay day
A perfect barrier draw has given Archer’s Paradox a chance to again show her brilliant early pace as she chases a big pay day at Doomben.
Archer’s Paradox is one of the fastest two-year-olds out of the gates in the state and meets a handy field in Saturday’s Triple Zero Charity Ball Handicap (1050m).
The race is the final QTIS bonus event for the metropolitan season and Archer’s Paradox can earn nearly $80,000 if she can win.
The filly ran eighth at her most recent start at Caloundra but was able to match motors with potential superstar Zoustlyle for much of the race.
Trainer David Murphy was pleased with run because of the high standard of the field.
“(Trainer) Tony Gollan has a huge wrap on Zoustyle and we went with him to the straight over 1200 metres,” Murphy said.
“I believed all along this race on Saturday would suit her better when she is back to 1050 metres.”
“From barrier two she should be able to show what she can do.”
Archer’s Paradox is by Golden Archer who is second on the Queensland two-year-old sires’ list behind Spirit of Boom.
The filly is raced in the famous Hocking family colours which have been seen on winners in Queensland for more than 50 years.
