AFL 2020 Betting Update: Yet another flag favourite emerges
Two of the most sought-after individual awards are all but locked up, but the Rising Star race is wide open and we have a new premiership favourite. Let’s take a look at the latest AFL futures odds at Sportsbet.com.au.
Richmond topples West Coast in AFL Premiership betting
Despite all the adversity and injury worries the Richmond Tigers have faced, they now sit as the 2020 AFL Premiership betting favourites with four rounds remaining until finals.
Their win over West Coast saw the Eagles slip to $6 alongside the Geelong Cats, who showed their big-game credentials with a terrific comeback win over the Western Bulldogs.
There’s still some love for the Brisbane Lions at $6.50, but given they haven’t overcome the Tigers since 2009, their flag hopes appear to be fading as Richmond’s grow.
Port Adelaide has sat atop the AFL ladder for most of the season, yet the Power offer some real value at $8.50 for those who think they get it done in the finals.
Collingwood and GWS fans are starting to believe again, but there’s lots of footy still to be played for the $19 and $23 outsiders.

Dangerfield makes his move in Brownlow Medal betting
We’re looking at the Brownlow Medal betting market without Lachie Neale, as you can almost guarantee the $1.40 favourite will run away with it.
Christian Petracca, Jack Steele and Patrick Dangerfield are prominent in the race for second place, and all three put in brilliant performances over the weekend.
Dangerfield is the big mover in the market, as his 32-disposal performance against the Bulldogs earned him all 10 votes from the coaches.
Petracca and Steele both starred as Melbourne edged out St Kilda on Saturday night, but Steven May could end up pinching the three votes with a huge performance in defence.
We still like Travis Boak and Marcus Bontempelli in this market when it comes to consistency and value, as Bontempelli could be a steal at $21.

It’s all Hawkins in Coleman Medal betting
Pack it up and send the Coleman Medal to Tom Hawkins, as there’s little chance he gets caught on the line from here.
Sitting seven goals ahead of the second-placed Josh Kennedy, who wont play in round 15 due to concussion, Geelong’s star forward will be tough to run down.
Unless Charlie Dixon kicks a big bag of goals in his next few games, the chances of anyone besides Hawkins winning are slim.
Jeremy Cameron is an interesting prospect at $21, as he’s 13 goals behind but has a game in hand on the Tomahawk.

Late movement for Rowell in Rising Star betting
This is the second-most interesting market this season behind the premiership winner, as the Brownlow and Coleman medals are effectively done and dusted.
The punters are loving Caleb Serong, as online bookmakers have kept him as the $2.75 favourite even after Izak Rankine and Noah Anderson played terrific games over the weekend.
Max King has dropped off and looks like he could use a rest, which he will get this week as St Kilda sits out with the bye.
The most interesting move in the Rising Star betting comes from Matt Rowell, who has plunged from $34 to $21 despite not playing a game since round five.
The Gold Coast star was considered a lock for the award before his season-ending injury, so perhaps the lack of a clear-cut leader might work in his favour.
Our tip at this point is Anderson, as his recent form suggests he could end his first season with at least one more best-on-ground performance.
