Adelaide Strikers v Brisbane Heat tips & multi picks | BBL 14/1

A Super Saturday of BBL action kicks off in Adelaide with the Strikers hosting the Brisbane Heat at the world famous Adelaide Oval.

These two sides last met in Brisbane where the Heat shocked their own fan base and most of the BBL by beating the Strikers who had begun the season in excellent form.

The Heat must win every game left in their BBL 12 campaign to give themselves the best mathematical chance they can of winning the competition. The Strikers on the other hand will need the win to ensure their spot in the top five of the competition.

The Heat have found form in recent weeks with wins over the Sixers and Scorchers in Perth, however, their most recent loss proved they are a way off consistently challenging the best sides in the BBL.

The Strikers are far too talented a side to be beaten at home and are the safest bet here to win this match paying $1.62 with cricket betting sites.

Matt Short continues to be the man with the key to the Strikers success. In Adelaide, he has scored a mountain of runs including 100 not out in a record breaking run chase against the Hurricanes. While he failed in his innings against the Heat in Brisbane, he is a different beast in Adelaide and the Heat are likely to be without Mark Steketee. Short is the most likely to be the Strikers leading run scorer paying $4 with online bookmakers.

The only hope the Heat will have of winning is if the leader of their pace attack stands up again. Michael Neser will no doubt know how best to dismiss former team mate Chris Lynn and will be given the new ball to attack early in the innings. Neser will surely target Ryan Gibson early, bringing Lynn to the crease, creating the perfect opportunity for him to take 2+ wickets for the Heat paying $2.05.

Key Match-up: Chris Lynn v Matthew Kuhnemann

Should one of Gibson or Short be removed early in their innings, Lynn will come to the crease where the Heat will no doubt look to target his biggest weakness. Lynn struggles to start his innings against spin, and Kuhnemann will play a big role in that scenario. Being able to turn the ball away from Lynn as well as the natural variation that comes with being a left-handed off-spinner is what will make Lynn struggle. Should The Heat get a fast start in removing one of the openers, and Kuhnemann is brought in and is successful in dismissing Lynn, the Heat will be a live chance of keeping their BBL 12 campaign alive.
