Abu Dhabi F1 Grand Prix betting tips

The 2023 Formula One season concludes this weekend as we head to the Yas Marina Circuit in the UAE for the 2023 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

Last weekend in Las Vegas, it was Red Bull driver Max Verstappen once again on top of the podium as he secured his 18th win of the season despite suffering damage and collecting a penalty. In a thrilling final-lap battle, Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc overtook Red Bull’s Sergio Perez for second place, while Esteban Ocon and Lance Stroll were both very impressive in gaining over 10 places each to finish fourth and fifth, respectively.

Abu Dhabi has been the season finale every season since its addition to the calendar 15 years ago. As a day-night race, the sun has been known to be a challenge for drivers. The pressure is off Red Bull this weekend after Perez secured second place in the drivers’ championship, while they have already secured the constructors’ championship.

The battle for second place is red hot, however, as Ferrari sit just four points behind Mercedes. Fourth place is also up for grabs, with McLaren holding just an 11-point advantage over Aston Martin.

There is also a four-way battle for fourth place in the drivers’ championship. Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz and Aston Martin’s Fernando Alonso sit level on 200 points, while McLaren’s Lando Norris (195) and Leclerc (188) are not far behind.

Having won the last three editions of the race, Verstappen should be heavily favoured once again, but look for Mercedes and Ferrari to be right up for the fight. Norris should also be in the mix for a podium after crashing out of last weekend’s race.

F1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix betting strategy

The obvious choice once again, Max Verstappen will be looking to conclude his record-breaking season with another win. After cutting it close last weekend, expect the Red Bull superstar to win a lot more comfortably this weekend on a track he has experience with. Take him at -344.83 to win with Neds.

With second place in the constructors’ championship up for grabs, look for Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton to put in a big performance for the team. A five-time winner of the race, Hamilton knows the track well. Back the Englishman for a podium finish at +175 with top F1 bookmakers.

It’s a big weekend for Aston Martin and Fernando Alonso with battles in both the constructors’ and drivers’ championships. After struggling for a lot of the back half of the season, Alonso returned to form in Brazil with a podium finish. While last weekend’s track did not suit the car, expect a big response from Alonso with a top-six finish at +175 odds.
