A clash between the two bottom sides in the A-League kicks off round seven as the Mariners host Western United. United have lost five games in a row, scoring just one goal across that stretch. On the other hand, the Mariners are starting to turn their season around, collecting four points in their last two matches. Central Coast should be too strong in this one.

Perth Glory vs Melbourne City

Friday, December 8 – 6:45pm AWST – HBF Park

After collecting their second win of the season, Melbourne City will be keen to continue their push up the table when they face the struggling Perth Glory this weekend. With just one win, the Glory need to turn things around quickly if they are going to push for finals football. City striker Jamie Maclaren has scored four goals in his last four games and will be keen to keep that streak going.

Wellington Phoenix vs Newcastle Jets

Saturday, December 9 – 7:30pm NZDT – Sky Stadium

Wellington Phoenix sit top of the table thanks to their unbeaten record. Conceding just four goals this season, they boast the best defence in the A-League. On the other hand, the Jets sit ninth and have the worst defence in the competition, conceding 14 goals in six outings. With home-ground advantage, expect the Phoenix to be too strong.

Sydney FC vs Macarthur FC

Saturday, December 9 – 7:45pm AEDT – Allianz Stadium

A local derby headlines round seven as the undefeated Macarthur FC face off against the underperforming Sydney FC. Both sides come into this match after high-scoring wins last weekend and will be looking to shore things up in defence. Macarthur have looked the stronger side all season and should keep their unbeaten streak alive.

Adelaide United vs Brisbane Roar

Sunday, December 10 – 2:30pm ACDT – Coopers Stadium

Adelaide United continued on their free-scoring ways in last week’s 4-3 defeat to Macarthur FC. This weekend, they host an impressive Brisbane Roar outside that has lost just once this season. Both of these teams have scored plenty and conceded plenty already this season, so we could be in for an entertaining encounter.

Western Sydney Wanderers vs Melbourne Victory

Sunday, December 10 – 5pm AEDT – CommBank Stadium

Wrapping up round seven is an exciting showcase of two undefeated teams coming off draws last weekend. Wanderers have the equal-best defence in the A-League, while the Victory have drawn their past four matches. At home, Western Sydney should be too strong in what is tipped to be a low-scoring contest.
