The 2024/25 A-League season continues this weekend, with a pair of derby game taking centre stage on Saturday. Here are our top soccer tips for every game of Round 20.
Newcastle Jets vs Brisbane Roar
Friday, February 21 – 7:35pm AEDT – McDonald Jones Stadium
Undefeated in their last four games, the Newcastle Jets have a great chance to continue their climb up the table against the last-placed Brisbane Roar. The visitors have just one win all season, which suggests the Jets offer great value at $2.05 to win with top A-League bookies.

Auckland FC vs Wellington Phoenix
Saturday, February 22 – 5pm NZDT – Go Media Stadium
In the third-ever New Zealand derby, Auckland FC will be looking to maintain their perfect record over their local rivals. Auckland are undefeated in their last five, whereas Wellington have struggled of late with just four goals in their last seven matches. Facing the best defence in the A-League, expect the Phoenix’s problems in attack to continue.

Central Coast Mariners vs Western Sydney Wanderers
Saturday, February 22 – 5pm AEDT – Industree Bank Stadium
Despite these two sides sitting eighth and ninth on the A-League ladder, their form could not be more different heading into this clash. The Mariners are winless in their last six across all competitions, while the Wanderers have earned seven points from their last three games. Although they are playing on the road, Western Sydney should still be too strong as slight favourites at $2.15 with major sports betting sites.
Western Sydney Wanderers to win
Melbourne Victory vs Melbourne City
Saturday, February 22 – 7:35pm AEDT – AAMI Park
With a potential top-two spot on the line, the stakes are high for this Melbourne Derby. Recent history has favoured Victory; they are undefeated in the last six meetings with Melbourne City, while they have won three of their last four games. On the other hand, City have only beaten the 12th-placed Glory in their last four games, so they may struggle this weekend.
Melbourne Victory to win
Perth Glory vs Sydney FC
Saturday, February 22 – 6:45pm AWST – HBF Park
With the worst attacking and defensive records in the A-League, Perth are set to face another tough test against the sixth-placed Sydney FC. The visitors are undefeated in their last three and have won the last two meetings by an aggregate score of 10-1. Sydney winger Joe Lolley scored a hat-trick when these sides last met, and given he is the A-League’s top scorer this season, he is an excellent bet to strike again at $2.10 with leading online bookmakers.

Western United vs Adelaide United
Sunday, February 23 – 5pm AEDT – Ironbark Fields
Both Western United and Adelaide United will be looking to bounce back from tough losses as they look establish their respective finals positions. While both have been inconsistent in recent weeks, their scoring hasn’t, with each clearing the total goals line in four of their past five games. Five of the last seven meetings between the sides have had over 3.5 goals, so back the trend to continue at $1.90 with Marantelli Bet.
