A critical match between the Essendon Bombers and GWS Giants will kickstart Round 15 of the 2019 AFL season.

These two teams have developed a small rivalry since the end of 2017, when Devon Smith left the Giants to join the Bombers, followed by the big move of Dylan Shiel at the end of 2018.

The Giants were clinical in their 72-point victory over the Bombers at the start of the year, leaving the Dons with some tough questions to answer.

John Worsfold’s future at Essendon has been discussed thoroughly since the Kangaroos and Blues decided to sack their head coaches, with many believing he could be next on the chopping board.

A win over the Giants at home could change the mindset of the AFL media mob, and that is exactly what the Bombers are hoping for this week.

GWS stopper Matt de Boer was injured against North Melbourne and will miss the next eight weeks, leaving room for Shiel or Zach Merrett to go without a hard tag.

With the Bombers’ form seesawing each week, anything can happen in this match.

Essendon vs GWS Round 15 player disposals betting

Michael Hurley to get 20 disposals @ $1.53
The key defender has been solid all season long but was hung out to dry last week against West Coast gun Josh Kennedy. Hurley will bounce back with a strong performance against the Giants. The GWS midfield is better than the Bombers’, which means the Essendon defence will be working overtime to rebound the footy and Hurley will see plenty of it.

Toby Greene to get 20 disposals @ $1.91
With Matt de Boer out, a position in the midfield becomes vacant, and Greene has been wanting to get involved all season. He played in the guts against the Blues and had 34 disposals, proving he is ready whenever.

Bombers vs Giants Round 15 goalkicking tips

Kyle Langford to kick a goal – Best odds at Sportsbet
One of the few Bombers players that could hold their head high in round one was Langford. This has been a breakout season for Essendon’s no.4, who has kicked a goal per game with an average of 18 disposals. He booted two against the Giants at Spotless and will hit the scoreboard again this week.

Jeremy Cameron to kick four goals
Despite leading the race for the Coleman Medal and averaging over three goals per match, Cameron has managed to dodge the limelight in the past few weeks. He is an extraordinary talent that knows where the goals are. Cameron kicked 4.2 against the Bombers in round one and will better that mark this week.

Over 168.5 points @ $1.88
Under the roof of Marvel Stadium, the footy has been hit and miss. Some teams are kicking lofty totals and creating plenty of opportunities, whilst others are failing to do so. The Giants go very well by foot and will love the fast-paced surface. No external distractions such as wind and rain will affect goalkicking, meaning the set shots should be good.
