West Coast Eagles: BYE, Lost to Sydney, 116-71
Essendon Bombers: Won over Hawthorn, 96-77
He was once the great West Coast premiership player and coach, but John Worsfold will lead an enemy raid on WA this Thursday night.
Optus Stadium will be packed with Eagles fans expecting their ninth win of the season, while the Essendon Bombers will be looking to jump into the top eight with win number seven.
Both sides have won three of their last four matches, but it’s the Bombers who have the momentum after beating the Hawks comfortably in Round 13.

Jake Stringer will miss the match with a sore leg after a collision last week, causing yet another conundrum for Worsfold and his injury-plagued forward line.
The Eagles will come off their bye weekend with fresh legs and some big inclusions.
Shannon Hurn, Elliot Yeo and Oscar Allen are all fit to play, with Tom Barrass also a chance to return, although he will more than likely play in the WAFL.
Mark Hutchings is tipped to line up on Dylan Shiel, which would all but rule out the Essendon midfielder from any disposal betting tips.
West Coast vs Essendon Round 14 player disposals tips
Andrew Gaff to get 30 disposals @ $1.45
One of the best wingmen in the competition has quietly gone about his business this season, finding the footy at will. With an average of 32 disposals per match, Gaff has turned into one of the most consistent players in the AFL. He gathered 32 touches against the Bombers last season and will do it again this week.
Zach Merrett to get 30 disposals @ $2
If Mark Hutchings goes to the damaging Dylan Shiel, then Merrett will have to rack up plenty of ball to compensate for his teammate’s tag. The Essendon no.7 was able to find the footy 28 times last week despite heavy attention from the Hawks midfielders. In the previous clash with West Coast, Merrett had 30.
Eagles vs Bombers Round 14 player goals betting
Jack Darling to kick three goals – Best odds at Ladbrokes
One player that loves kicking goals is Jack Darling, who has booted 10 in his last three matches. The Eagles forward is in a good run of form and does not mind facing the Bombers, against whom he had seven shots on goal – albeit for a return of 2.5 – last time they met.
Kyle Langford to kick two goals
A great inclusion into the Bombers 22, Langford has a smart footy brain that gets him into the right positions in the forward half. He kicked two goals last week and will find the same space again on the Thursday night. He crumbs packs well and has a great snap over the shoulder, not to mention a sound set-shot routine.
West Coast vs Essendon Round 14 total points odds
Total points oer 159.5 @ $1.88
With no signs of rain or any hindering elements, the match should be played fast and well. The space at Optus Stadium will help both sides and allow for more running with the footy, something the Bombers do more than anyone off half-back. If both teams are accurate, it should be a high-scoring match.
Eagles vs Bombers Round 14 match predictions
Match result: West Coast Eagles to win @ $1.35 with Sportsbet
Line betting: West Coast Eagles -17.5 @ $1.90
The Eagles have built a very strong home reputation which has won them most of their matches in Perth. The Bombers are still not ready for the big assignments, especially with Jake Stringer not available.
