Unibet partners with Virgin Australia Supercars Championships
Unibet has been announced as the official betting partner of Virgin Australia Supercars Championships for the next two years.
The Australian licensed betting site will have a strong presence at Supercars events with on-track signage and a range of unique promotions. Unibet will also provide access to events via live broadcast.
The partnership will commence this weekend at Watpac Townsville 400.
Supercars and Unibet will focus strongly on digital content to appeal to a larger audience while giving fans a better understanding of the sport’s statistics.

Unibet’s Head of Marketing and Operations, Julian Timmins, said the partnership will allow Supercars fans to follow everything that is happening on the track.
“Unibet Australia is looking forward to working with Supercars to ensure fans are as well informed as possible when watching and betting on their favourite teams and drivers,” Timmins said.
“We see Supercars as a fantastic platform to engage with and inform punters.”
Supercars Managing Director, Matt Braid, said the choice to go with Unibet was based on the bookmaker’s views of the events and its ability to present the sport in a way that mirrors Supercars plans for future growth.
“The high quality, intense competition of our sport delivers excitement to millions of passionate fans which make Supercars the ideal partner for Unibet,” Braid said.
“We are pleased to partner with one of Australia’s and the world’s leading sports betting agencies.”
Unibet UK signed on as Aston Villa’s principal partner
Meanwhile, the UK Unibet betting site has been announced as the principal partner for Aston Villa football team.
Aston Villa, which plays in the second-highest division of the English football system, will be teaming up with Kindred Group’s Unibet during the 2017-18 football season.
The Birmingham-based club – both the men’s and the women’s teams – will don the Unibet brand on their home and away shirts.
Unibet head of UK marketing Sam Mead said the partnership will help “Aston Villa in their push for promotion back to the Premier League.”
Villa recently dropped down a division in 2016 after playing in every Premier League season since 1992.
“Unibet and Aston Villa are two of the biggest names in our respective fields with a rich heritage – Unibet genuinely understand football fans and, working together with Aston Villa, will be ensuring we enhance the enjoyment of their fans in all aspects of the beautiful game,” Mead added.
“We look forward to supporting Aston Villa fans and the Birmingham area with unique content and special betting opportunities.”
Aston Villa chief commercial officer, Luke Organ, welcomed the partnership with Unibet.
“They made it clear from the outset how important our fans will be to this partnership and their planned level of emphasis that they will put on our fans will be exciting to see come to life,” Organ said.
“The club’s size is reflected by the magnitude of this relationship with Unibet and we look forward to testing our data and digital abilities to drive value and provide a rounded partnership for us all to enjoy.”
The partnership follows the Football Association in England promptly ending its £4 million-a-year sponsorship deal with UK bookmaker, Ladbrokes two weeks ago.
The surprise partnership termination caused concern back home, with calls for the National Rugby League (NRL) and the Australian Football League (AFL) to pull sponsorships with corporate bookmakers.
