Travis Head leads Australia to 3-0 series win over South Africa
Travis Head displayed an exceptional performance scoring a career 91 runs off 48 balls as Australia achieved a convincing 3-0 series sweep, over South Africa in the third T20I match at Kingsmead.
With 13 balls to spare the Australia cricket team successfully chased down the target of 191 runs.
Heads innings was explosive with eight boundaries and six maximums establishing his T20I score to date.
Mitchell Marsh, Australia’s captain praised the teams performance in the series.
and applauded Head for his match winning contribution.
On the hand Temba Bavuma, South Africas captain expressed disappointment with the result while acknowledging his teams resilience and fighting spirit.
He emphasised that valuable lessons would be learned from this series.
Travis Head’s exceptional display also set a record for the score by an Australian player in a T20I match played in South Africa.
It is worth mentioning that Australia has had success against South Africa in T20Is winning 16, out of 24 matches played thus far.
Australia is now preparing to travel for their One Day International competition against South Africa scheduled to commence on September 7th.
