Gold Coast v Redcliffe NRL betting predictions
Recliffe Dolphins to win 1-12
Valynce Te Whare anytime tryscorer
+49.5 total match points
SGM: Dolphins 1-12, Te Whare ATS, +49.5 match points
The Titans host the Dolphins at Cbus Super Stadium in the final match of NRL round 19 on Sunday.
These two sides met in round eight this year and the Dolphins erased a 26-point deficit at half time to win by two points. Will the visitors be able to claim another win?
The Dolphins will be without Felise Kaufusi (concussion) and Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow who is with the Queensland Maroons squad for State of Origin.
Aitkin returns to the starting side in the centres along with Connelly Lemuelu in the second-row. Jarrod Wallace and Anthony Milford have been named to return from suspension via the interchange bench.
The Titans will be without AJ Brimson, Tino Fa’asuamaleaui, Moeaki Fotuaika and David Fifita who are also in the Maroons side for Origin. Jayden Campbell will start at fullback with Jaimin Jolliffe and Iszac Fa’asuamaleaui in the front row, and Klese Haas in the second-row.
This match between the Titans and Dolphins comes with the opportunity for both sides to get a step closer to the top eight on the NRL ladder and a possible 2023 finals berth. Both teams have an even balance of experience and youth in their sides that will make this contest much closer than betting suggests. The Dolphins are a great value bet for punters to win by a narrow 1-12 point margin at $3.50 odds with PalmerBet.
The progression of rugby union convert Valynce Te Whare has been brilliant to watch. Since scoring a double on debut against the Sharks in Magic Round, Te Whare’s total running metres, tackle breaks and line breaks have all gradually increased, bringing tries along the way. Look for Te Whare to dominate this matchup physically and score a try ($2.45) at any time during the match.
Warm, dry weather conditions are predicted for Sunday afternoon on the Gold Coast and Cbus Super Stadium is one of the best grounds in the competition for scoring points. These conditions should suit players such as the Alofiana Khan-Pereira and Campbell for the Titans as well as Jamayne Isaako, Lemuelu and Te Whare for the Dolphins, as their ability to score quickly will be enhanced. Look for this match to be a high scoring affair that exceeds 49.5 total match points.
Titans v Dolphins key matchup: Kieran Foran v Sean O’Sullivan
Kieran Foranvs Sean O’Sullivan |
Halfback | Position | halfback |
274 | Games | 38 |
54 | Tries | 5 |
Titans captain Kieran Foran and Dolphins halfback Sean O’Sullivan will be playing on the same side of the field in a very similar style. Numerous injuries to both players in their careers have forced them to play a more intelligent and crafty style of football to get their more athletic teammates involved in the game. Both players will also shoulder the bulk of responsibility for organising their side and kicking in play which will make this matchup one that potentially decides the outcome of the game.
