Titans star Beau Fermor to miss 2023 NRL season with ACL

The Gold Coast Titans have announced that second-row forward Beau Fermor has ruptured his ACL and will miss the entirety of the 2023 NRL season.
The Titans have not revealed how the injury was sustained, but they have confirmed Fermor will meet with medical staff regarding his rehabilitation.
The news comes on the back of a breakout year in the NRL for the former Storm and Knights junior, who played 23 games and scored 11 tries, recorded 10 line-breaks and 10 offloads, and ran for more than 110m on average.
Fermor became a key player in the Titans squad and formed a strong partnership with David Fifita on the second row.
The 24-year-old’s impressive 2022 NRL season earned him selection in Queensland’s extended squad for State of Origin, as well as a place in the Prime Minister’s XIII that played Papua New Guinea in September.
Fermor scored a try, broke the defensive line twice and assisted in scoring a try as the Australian side belted the PNG team by 50 points.
While there are a number of options for head coach Justin Holbrook to choose as replacements for Fermor, the most exciting choice could be Klese Haas.
Named in the reserves to take on the Wests Tigers, the younger brother of Brisbane Broncos prop Payne Haas showed promise during the NRL Pre-Season Challenge against the Broncos and the Dolphins.
