Tigers vs Knights NRL 2020 betting preview
Both the Wests Tigers and Newcastle Knights will look to go 2-0 on the 2020 NRL Premiership season when they meet at Leichhardt Oval this Sunday.
The Tigers kicked off their campaign with a 24-14 win over the St George Illawarra Dragons in Wollongong, while the Knights piled on 20 unanswered points against the New Zealand Warriors.
Online bookmakers cannot split the two sides this week, so we can expect a cracking contest despite the empty stands.
Wests Tigers team news
Luke Brooks is set to miss three or four weeks with a calf injury sustained at training last week, which gives Josh Reynolds a chance alongside Benji Marshall in the halves. Moses Mbye is still nursing a sore knee and is not expected back until next week at the earliest. The only change to the side that beat the Dragons sees Paul Momirovski replace Michael Chee Kam on the bench.
Newcastle Knights team news
No changes for the Knights after their impressive display against the Warriors. Sione Mata’utia is named among the reserves as he works back from a knee injury, while Tautau Moga is not for away after giving his hamstring a stretch in the Canterbury Cup last week.
Kalyn Ponga tryscorer betting odds
Kalyn Ponga anytime tryscorer
Ponga was one of three Knights to find the line in last week’s big win over the Warriors. The superstar fullback was a scoring machine for Newcastle last season and looks set for a similarly prolific 2020.
Tigers vs Knights NRL Round 2 predictions
Under 40.5 total match points
Both these teams put on solid defensive displays in their Round 1 victories, especially the Knights. Expect more of the same at Leichhardt this Sunday in a match that could go either way.
