Led by captain Luke Donald, the European team took control from the beginning by sweeping all four morning foursome matches.
Rory McIlroy and Matt Fitzpatrick led the way with a 5–3 victory, while Justin Thomas and Jordan Spieth managed to salvage a tie against Viktor Hovland and Tyrrell Hatton.
The afternoon fourballs provided excitement, with Jon Rahm’s impressive chip-ins and Justin Rose’s clutch putting leading to crucial halves for Europe.
