Sydney Kings play host to a resurgent Perth Wildcats side at Qudos Bank Arena in NBL action on Saturday.
The league leading Kings will be looking to continue their three game winning streak to stay atop the NBL ladder, while the Wildcats will be looking to bounce back from a narrow loss to the Breakers to advance as high as forth on the ladder.
These two clubs have not met since the 21/22 NBL season and both sides have changed drastically.
NBA champion Ian Clark has moved on from the Kings, with Derrick Walton Jr being added to the side and Xavier Cooks to the starting line-up.
For the Wildcats, Corey Webster was missing from the side last season and will be a big addition as they attempt to secure a win on the road.
The Kings have won their last three matches against the Wildcats including two wins at Qudos Bank Arena.
The Wildcats have been working to overcome a mid-season slump and have done so successfully. However, it is hard to see the Kings losing on their home court at this point in the season. The Kings are a safe bet to win in front of their home fans paying $1.38 with basketball betting sites.
The Kings and Wildcats are two of the most talented rosters in the NBL. Both teams have players on the court that can score 30 points in the game at the drop of a hat.
On average, both teams score over 90 points per game, with the Kings averaging almost 95 points. In a big match for both clubs, look to see the best of these two sides offensively and the match to finish above the 182.5 total match points line paying $1.85.
For the Wildcats, Bryce Cotton often leads the scoring for his team. However, the Kings have three players that can take up the mantle of leading scorer on any given night. Xavier Cooks, Walton Jr and Dejan Vasiljevic share the responsibilities of scoring for the Kings and are one of the most dangerous trios in the competition. They will lead this Kings side again and should record the highest scoring quarter of the match paying $1.52 with online bookmakers.
Key match-up: Derrick Walton JR v Bryce Cotton
The match up between these two guards will be the highlight of the evening. Cotton is the more prolific scorer and rebounder who can push the pace in transition to score, or get the scoring done on his own off the pass or dribble. Walton Jr is the more efficient shooter who is better at sharing the basketball and getting his team mates involved. The two guards play the game very differently, but if one can bridge the gap to their oppositions strength and make up the difference, they will be able to lead their respective side to a big win.
