Round 14: Melbourne Storm v Newcastle Knights match preview
The Melbourne Storm will start a short-priced favourite for their Sunday afternoon NRL clash against Newcastle Knights at AAMI Park, with both teams attempting to bounce back from a loss.
The Storm are priced at $1.42 to win this clash, with the Knights as long as $4.60 with some NRL betting sites.
The Storm have lost two of their last three matches and one of those was against a Nicho Hynes-less Sharks in Melbourne. The competition leaders will be looking for their ninth win of the season to cement their spot at the top of the NRL ladder.
The Knights were on a four-game winning streak before suffering a stunning loss to the Bulldogs in Newcastle last Friday. A win in this match could see them jump into the top eight.
Knights head coach Adam O’Brien has named an unchanged line-up to take on the Storm. However, rumours are circulating that Fletcher Sharpe will make his NRL debut at fullback in place of David Armstrong.
Storm head coach Craig Bellamy has made one change with Will Warbrick out injured (groin). Grant Anderson is named on the wing, while Maroons State of Origin stars Xavier Coates and Harry Grant have been named to back up from Wednesday night’s match.

Storm v Knights match predictions
The Storm opened as -500 short-priced favourites with the leading NRL bookmakers to win this match, with Grant and Coates expected to back up on Sunday.
The Knights have won their last two matches against the Storm, but those two wins came in Newcastle, and they lost the three matches before those wins. Melbourne has won 14 of their last 15 games at AAMI Park, and they’ve won both halves in each of their last three games against the Knights at this ground. The best value on offer in this match is backing the Storm to complete the half-time/full-time double (-238.1) and go on to win the match by 13+ points (-113.64).
In partnership with halfback Jahrome Hughes, Eliesa Katoa has scored six tries in 11 matches from six line breaks and dozens of tackle breaks. He’s scored a try in each of his last three games, and against the far less experienced Kai Pearce-Paul, is every chance to score another try (+145).
