Steelers v Patriots NFL betting tips & odds – Friday, December 8
The 7-5 Pittsburgh Steelers and the 2-10 New England Patriots will open Week 14 of the 2023 NFL season this Friday (AEDT). Both teams will be starting their backup quarterbacks, and online bookmakers have set the over/under at a minuscule 30 points. While it may not be very interesting for the neutral, we still have free NFL betting tips to hopefully salvage something from this game.
Patriots @ Steelers spread pick: New England +6
The Patriots have an awful offense and will struggle to score in this game. The Steelers offense isn’t much better, though, and this Patriots defense is actually pretty solid. New England, in a historic feat, have lost three straight games while giving up 10 or fewer points, and they should handle the Pittsburgh offense with ease. The Steelers cannot be trusted, so the heavy underdog is the safe pick with Marantelli Bet.
New England Patriots +6
Mitchell Trubisky passing touchdowns: Under 0.5
The Steelers’ backup quarterback, Mitchell Trubisky, will be starting his second game of the season, and this will be his toughest task yet. While he threw a touchdown in relief last weekend, the Steelers clearly want to lean on their running game and limit the chances for Trubisky to make a mistake. The Patriots have only given up two passing touchdowns over the past four games, and Trubisky is no more talented than any QB they have faced in that stretch.
Under 0.5 passing touchdowns
Najee Harris rushing yards: Over 59.5
The Steelers will run the ball a lot in this game, and that bodes well for star running back Najee Harris. After dealing with injuries earlier in the season, Harris has cleared this number in four of his past five games and will trusted to carry the load in this contest. New England have been stellar against the run, but considering Harris projects to get around 20 carries, it will be hard to keep him under 60 yards.
