Spring contenders gallop at Warrnambool
Last-start Bletchingly Stakes winner Scales of Justice has had a race day work-out at Warrnambool.
Group One winner Scales Of Justice and exciting prospect Begood Toya Mother have made appearances at a midweek Warrnambool meeting for track gallops as they prepare for feature race targets in Melbourne.
Scales Of Justice made a successful return to racing with victory in the Group Three Bletchingly Stakes last Saturday week at Caulfield and the gelding was given a solo gallop on Thursday with Dean Yendall aboard.
The Lindsey Smith-trained Scales Of Justice appeared to work comfortably over 800m as he continues on a path towards the Group One Memsie Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield on August 31.
The Daniel Bowman-trained Begood Toya Mother turned in an impressive piece of work in company with his stakes-placed stablemate Working From Home in readiness for their new season returns.
The up-and-coming Begood Toya Mother sat off his stablemate early in the 1000m hit-out before cruising past the mare in the straight to win the gallop by just over a length.
Begood Toya Mother is set for a return in the Listed Regal Roller Stakes (1200m) at Caulfield on Saturday week with his Group One target next month’s Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes (1400m).
The gelding rose through the grades with five-straight wins during his most recent preparation which culminated in a five-length victory in a 1440m benchmark race at Caulfield on June 1.
