SEM Phoenix vs Melbourne United betting preview
The 2021 NBL Cup enters its final round with a huge clash between South East Melbourne Phoenix and Melbourne United at John Cain Arena this Wednesday.
SEM Phoenix are the newest expansion team in the NBL, but they have quickly created a strong rivalry with their Victorian counterparts.

Back in round three, Melbourne United put on a show in their six-point victory over the Phoenix as Jack White starred with 22 points and they held Mitch Creek to just 13.
Keifer Sykes was terrific for SEM early in the season, but he is still sidelined with the ankle injury he suffered against Adelaide in round six.
Chris Goulding is back in action for United, who will be eager to return to the winner’s list after suffering just their second loss of the season last time out.
SEM Phoenix vs Melbourne United betting predictions
Chris Goulding to score 20+ points
After missing six matches through injury, Goulding wasted no time getting back into his groove against the Brisbane Bullets, scoring 21 points in just 22 minutes and burying six three-pointers. Goulding needs to take advantage of the Phoenix in this match and continue to take shots from beyond the arc, as the absence of Sykes leaves SEM vulnerable on the perimeter.
Chris Gouldings to score 20+ points
Over 177.5 total points
The first meeting earlier this season resulted in a total score of 186, even though SEM Phoenix shot poorly from long range. We took the total points line and extended it slightly to give us boosted odds, as we think this one will follow the same trend as their previous clash. Both teams played in a high-scoring match last round, so the form points to overs.
Over 177.5 total points
Melbourne United by 1-10 points
Even though the combination of Nathan Sobey and Vic Law was too hot to handle in Melbourne United’s last match against the Brisbane Bullets, they should bounce back here against the vulnerable Phoenix, who have lost three of their last four NBL matches. United must win this match if they want to take home the inaugural NBL Cup, but Creek and the SEM Phoenix squad will push them.
Melbourne United by 1-10 points
