The Wests Tigers will look to continue their good form at Suncorp Stadium in Round 19 when they take on the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles on Saturday evening.
The Tigers are just two points outside the top eight, and a win over Manly would well and truly have them poised to end a finals drought which stretches back to 2011. They come into the game not just off a terrific win, but in a rare occurrence for the joint-venture, they’ll have the benefit of naming the same 17 players who did the job for Michael Maguire in Round 18.
Manly will be boosted significantly by the return of Daly Cherry-Evans and Tom Trbojevic, while Jake Trbojevic will face a fitness test on his troublesome hip. The Sea Eagles come into the contest as a $1.15 favourite on the back of those huge inclusions, while the online bookies and punters have also remembered the flogging they dished out to the Tigers on ANZAC Day.
Sea Eagles vs Tigers betting preview
With the return of Tom Trbojevic to the Manly Sea Eagles line-up, the bets are going to come in thick and fast for him to score a try along with Reuben Garrick and Jason Saab. Saab especially becomes a different player once Tommy Turbo is at fullback, so he could be the best option at $2.60 to score a double and a short $7 to be the first tryscorer.
One outsider to look for in the Sea Eagles line-up is the big man on the right edge in Haumole Olakau’atu. He has scored a try in four of Manly’s last five games and will be running straight at Luke Brooks whenever he gets a chance, so expect punters to take a chance on the $3.25 price. The -18.5 line is long, but Manly’s full-strength line-up should cover that margin, having done so on seven occasions already in 2021.

There is bad news for Wests Tigers fans straight off the bat. In the last six games they have won as an underdog, they’ve failed to win the following week. There is some joy to be found in the tryscorer betting markets, though, and the stats suggest David Nofoaluma and Tommy Talau are the two names who make the most sense to back.
Nofoaluma has scored at least one try in each of the Tigers’ last three games, while Talau has at least one in back-to-back games. Nofoaluma is $1.91, but the value is with Talau at $3.60. Adam Doueihi is also a good price at $4.33 to get a try, and considering his form this season, Tigers fans will be jumping all over that.
Key matchup: Kieran Foran vs Adam Doueihi
Adam Doueihi had five try assists last weekend and has shown in 2021 he is a star player on the rise. He is currently tied for sixth in the league with 15 try assists this season, and he is going to have to produce another outstanding performance for the Tigers to have any chance at getting the upset win. His opposite number in Kieran Foran produced his best effort of the season so far last round with two linebreak assists, a try and a try assist in the absence of his regular partner in Daly Cherry-Evans. Both Doueihi and Foran will have a huge role to play, and the better of the two will give a significant advantage to their team.
