Redzel out for the rest of the winter
Redzel will miss the rest of the Brisbane carnival after his failure in the Victory Stks at Doomben.
Star sprinter Redzel will take no further part in the Brisbane winter carnival after his defeat in the Victory Stakes at Eagle Farm.
The dual Everest and Group One winner finished second as odds-on favourite to I Am Excited in Saturday’s Group Two 1200m-race and co-trainer Peter Snowden said he was obviously not himself.
“He will come straight back to Sydney,” Snowden told Sky Sports Radio.
“It was disappointing and it clearly showed there is something not quite right with him.
“We will go over him top to bottom.”

“He won’t run again this preparation.”
Snowden said his son and co-trainer Paul Snowden had told him it appeared Redzel might have a hamstring problem and he was a bit stiff and sore after the race.
Redzel has had four starts this year finishing second twice and unplaced on the other two occasions.
He is the winner of 14 of his 33 starts and has earned more than $15 million with much of his prize money coming from his two wins in The Everest.
He won the 2017 Doomben 10,000 and the Darley Classic at Flemington the same year.
