Racetrack boss hurt in explosion

Scott Jones, the secretary/manager of the Lismore Turf Club, has been flown to Gold Coast Hospital, having suffered burns to approximately 45 per cent of his body after a reported gas explosion at the racecourse.

Racing NSW said Jones had burns to his torso, arms, and legs and a laceration to his face after the incident on Thursday morning.

Fire and Rescue responded to the incident and the investigation has been handed over to police.

The race meeting scheduled for Saturday has been moved to Casino.
