Punter punishes Sportsbet.com.au to the tune of $70,000
THEY say $10 cannot buy you a lot in 2017, but one punter put together an Easter miracle over the weekend to take $70,000 from a ten dollar investment at Sportsbet.com.au.
In a round where the results were not always easy to pick and the margins were even harder, one astute AFL punter not only got every single result correct, but he also nailed the point spread of each contest.
The $10 investment with the online bookmaker netted a huge $69,979 payout, but the multi was nearly over just three games into the round, but a piece of Cam McCarthy brilliance helped the Dockers seal an epic win and ultimately it was the decisive match in the multi.

The punter’s other legs were relatively comfortable, and he would have been counting his winnings midway through the third quarter on Monday afternoon as Geelong put Hawthorn to the sword.

Sportsbet.com.au representative Will Byrne was blown away by this multi.
“What a great effort,” Byrne said.
“We can’t recall a punter picking the margin and winner of every game of a round.”
Byrne believes a portion of the punter’s winnings has to go to the colourful Docker too after his last minute heroics at the MCG.
“This AFL genius only had one nail-biting moment with the Dockers, but he has won enough to look up Cam McCarthy and buy him a drink.”
The winning multi bet:
Geelong 40+ (v Hawthorn) $4.00
Richmond 40+ (v Brisbane) $3.40
St Kilda 1-39 (v Collingwood) $2.50
Gold Coast 1-39 (v Carlton) $2.40
Adelaide 40+ (v Essendon) $2.20
GWS 1-39 (v Port Adelaide) $2.25
Fremantle 1-39 (v Melbourne) $3.75
Western Bulldogs 1-39 (v North Melbourne) $2.20
West Coast 1-39 (v Sydney) $2.10
Combined Odds: $6997
