Punter lobs $300,000 record bet on Roosters to beat Broncos @ $1.04
A punter has placed $300,000 at $1.04 on the Sydney Roosters to account for Brisbane in their NRL Round 16 clash at the SCG beginning shortly.
The TAB customer in question will make a profit of $12,000 if the Roosters are victorious, which would extend the Broncos’ losing streak to seven games.
The $12 on offer for Brisbane to win this evening is the biggest price they have been to win an NRL game since TAB offered sports betting in 1998.
The $300,000 wager on the Roosters is the biggest NRL bet with TAB since a customer placed $224,000 at $1.07 on Melbourne to defeat Gold Coast in Round 10 this season at Sunshine Coast Stadium, which the Storm won 42-6.
