Premier League betting tips, predictions & odds | Matchweek 34
With Manchester City leading the Premier League standings for the first time since November, all eyes will be on Arsenal and Liverpool as they look to bounce back this weekend. Below are our free EPL betting picks and predictions for seven games of Matchweek 34, with a few others postponed due to fixture clashes.
Luton Town v Brentford
Sunday, April 21 – 12am AEST – Kenilworth Road
Thrashed 5-1 at the Etihad last Saturday, relegation-threatened Luton Town will seek to secure vital points against Brentford. Of the 25 points they have earned this season, 15 have come on home turf. However, Brentford have beaten the Hatters in six of their last seven meetings, including the reverse fixture in December.
Brentford to win
Sheffield United v Burnley
Sunday, April 21 – 12am AEST – Bramall Lane
According to EPL bookmakers, Sheffield United and Burnley are the favourites to be relegated. As both sides are winless in their last four Premier League games, it is hard to pick a winner between the Blades and the Clarets as they scramble for critical points.
Draw
Wolverhampton Wanderers v Arsenal
Sunday, April 21 – 4:30am AEST – Molineux
Arsenal will be intent on returning to the top of the EPL table, albeit temporarily, with a win over 11th-placed Wolves. Although the hosts have lost their last four league games, they have scored in three of those defeats. This is a must-win game for Mikel Arteta’s men if they are to keep their title hopes alive.
Arsenal / Both teams to score
Everton v Nottingham Forest
Sunday, April 21 – 10:30pm AEST – Goodison Park
Both Everton and Nottingham Forest have slumped into the relegation battle on the back of points deductions. Trailing Everton by a single point, Forest have only one win in their last eight Premier League games. Meanwhile, the Toffees have scored two goals or fewer in each of their last 11 league wins. With so much on the line, expect this to be a tight, hard-fought encounter.
Under 2.5 goals
Aston Villa v Bournemouth
Monday, April 22 – 12am AEST – Villa Park
Bournemouth will be confident ahead of their trip to Villa Park after forcing a 2-2 draw with Manchester United last Saturday. Following their win over Arsenal last time out, Aston Villa will be looking to advance their hopes of Champions League football with a win at home. Bournemouth have only kept one clean sheet in their last six EPL matches, so a Villa win looks likely.
Aston Villa to win
Crystal Palace v West Ham United
Monday, April 22 – 12am AEST – Selhurst Park
Both Crystal Palace and West Ham have scored in their last five meetings, with four of those featuring three goals or more. Furthermore, five of West Ham’s last six away games have registered more than three goals, while the same has happened in five of the last six home games for Crystal Palace.
Over 2.5 goals
Fulham v Liverpool
Monday, April 22 – 1:30am AEST – Craven Cottage
Following last Sunday’s 1-0 defeat to Crystal Palace, Liverpool need to win at Craven Cottage or risk falling out of the title race. Until their 2-0 victory over West Ham last weekend, Fulham were winless in three successive games. Liverpool star Mohamed Salah is the obvious choice to find the back of the net, as he has scored four times in seven appearances against Fulham.
