The GWS Giants have fallen out of the AFL finals race, but Port Adelaide can stay within sight of the top eight with a win at home this Saturday night.
Although both sides sit at the bottom of this season’s long list of finals contenders, they are still very strong teams that can do some damage at the back end of the season.
Mark McVeigh is edging closer to becoming the full-time head coach of the Giants, as he continues to impress during his brief period as interim coach.
There are still some doubts as to whether Ken Hinkley will continue to coach the Power once the 2022 season concludes, but there is every chance he could earn a contract extension if he can manage to slip this side into the finals.
A number of Port Adelaide players may be set to return this week pending how well they train, with Zak Butters (knee) the most likely to return.
The Giants did not suffer any new injuries in their round 16 win over the Hawks, while James Peatling is a chance to rejoin the side for the trip to South Australia.
Key matchup: Ollie Wines vs Josh Kelly
Two of the hottest commodities in the AFL will go head-to-head this weekend as Ollie Wines and Josh Kelly face off this Saturday. The 2021 Brownlow Medal winner has not been at his best this season, but he was excellent last week with 39 disposals against a strong Fremantle midfield. Kelly has also been putting up large numbers in midfield, as his teammates love to find him on the outside and utilise his excellent kicking. Back in both stars to rack up plenty of disposals this weekend.
Power vs Giants AFL betting predictions
The growth of Connor Rozee from an inconsistent forward to one of the most promising midfield-forward hybrids in the AFL has been a joy to watch this season, and he is one of the many factors that points us towards the Power this Saturday. With Travis Boak and Ollie Wines in full flight through the midfield, the Power become a very hard team to beat.

Ollie Wines disposal betting tips
With an average of 33 disposals across his last three matches, the AFL has remembered how impactful Ollie Wines can be when he plays well. He was near-unstoppable last weekend despite playing against the impressive Andrew Brayshaw and Will Brodie, which gives us great hope he can replicate his good work against the less-impressive GWS midfield.
Ollie Wines 30+ disposals
Port Adelaide vs GWS Giants same-game multi
Mitch Georgiades should kick a pair of goals for Port Adelaide as he continues to grow each week, while Ollie Wines will also dominate the midfield in this important win for the Power.
Port Adelaide 1-39 / Wines 30+ disposals / Georgiades 2+ goals
