Power v Dockers match preview
Two teams in great form face off on Saturday night as Port Adelaide host Fremantle at Adelaide Oval.
The Power are paying $1.36 to win the clash, with the improved Dockers outsiders at $3.30, while the $1.90 line has been set at a generous 19.5.
Last Friday night, the Power put together a statement performance as they beat Essendon by 69 points. After a close first quarter, Ken Hinkley’s side kept the Bombers to just three goals for the rest of the match. Port captain Connor Rozee continued his excellent start to the season with 36 disposals and three goals, leading the Power to a 3-1 start.
Despite the positive result, there were some negatives for the Power with key forward Jeremy Finlayson picking up a three-week suspsension and veteran Travis Boak suffering a back injury. In their place experienced pair Ollie Wines and Sam Powell-Pepper return to the side.
The Dockers conceded their first loss of the season last Saturday as they fell by 10 points to Carlton in a low-scoring affair. A back-and-forth game, the Dockers led for most of the final quarter before they dramatically gave up two late goals. However, it’s hardly a cause for concern against one of the best teams in the competition, as the Dockers maintained their excellent defensive record.
It’s just the one change for Fremantle this week as Neil Erasmus comes in for small forward Michael Frederick, who suffered a hamstring injury against the Blues.

Port Adelaide vs Fremantle tips
Playing at Adelaide Oval for the third week in a row, the Power come in as favourites for this clash. Off-season recruits have seemingly transformed their backline and the young midfield just seems to keep getting better. Despite the Dockers hot start to the season, their inexperienced forward line has not been at their best, so back the home side to win by 1-39 points at $2.00 with bet365.
A key component of the Dockers success this season has been their league-leading defensive record. They have gone under the total points line in three of their four games this season, while they have had offensive struggles of their own. The Power are also missing Finlayson and with experienced key forward Charlie Dixon having a slow start to the season, this match should go under 166.5 at $1.90 with AFL Bookmakers.
In a clash between two of the most exciting young midfields in the AFL, expect this game to be decided in the middle. After a mixed start to the season, Fremantle’s Andrew Brayshaw had a standout performance against the Blues with 38 disposals. With Luke Jackson expected to dominate the hit-outs, Brayshaw should have first look at the footy and given he has collected 30 or more disposals in five of his last seven matches, back him to continue the trend at $2.50 with online bookmakers.
