Phoenix vs Wildcats NBL betting odds, tips and predictions
3:05pm AEDT Sunday, December 8 at Melbourne Arena
South East Melbourne Phoenix: $1.73 with Sportsbet
Perth Wildcats: $2.24 with BetEasy
The most anticipated match of NBL Round 10 will take place this Sunday afternoon at Melbourne Arena, where the South East Melbourne Phoenix will try to make amends for a previous loss to the Perth Wildcats.
Back in Round 4 it was the Wildcats that comfortably beat a poor SEM side. The starters for the Phoenix were far from productive, scoring only 36 points between them with no double-digit individual scorer.
Perth scored a season-high 110 points in the clash, but that was in Western Australia, whereas this week’s game will be played at Melbourne Arena.

Mitchell Creek is the best player for the Phoenix. He has been in good form the last five matches, averaging around 22 points per game.
Perth star Bryce Cotton is one of the premier point guards in the league, averaging just under 20 points per game.
This match will be won and lost from the tip off. Both starting fives will need to get going early, as a few minutes of poor form could lead to a spurt of scoring from the opposition.
South East Melbourne Phoenix vs Perth Wildcats betting tips
Bryce Cotton to score under 19.5 points @ $1.84 with Sportsbet
Despite playing 30 minutes in Perth’s 30-point win when these teams last met, Bryce Cotton did not have a huge impact with the ball in hand. In a tight contest away from home, we suspect the American will score even less this time around. Cotton will find it hard to find space against the stingy Phoenix defence.
Ben Madgen to score over 11.5 points @ $1.84 with Sportsbet
Ben Madgen is one of the few players for SE Melbourne that can score both high and low totals. Madgen’s last four matches have returned two points, 14 points, three points and 23 points, with the latter his most recent encounter. If Madgen can break his pattern and score two big totals in a row, he will exceed the 11.5 mark.
Total match points under 184.5 @ $1.82 with Bet365
These teams are both capable on defence and not the most destructive on offence, which suggests this might be a low-scoring affair. Perth have scored over 100 points only two times this season, whilst SE Melbourne have done it against the lower teams on the ladder.
South East Melbourne Phoenix to win @ $1.73 with Sportsbet
SE Melbourne’s only home losses this season have come against the Sydney Kings and Melbourne United, the top two in the NBL title betting. The Wildcats are 4-3 on the road this season, but the Phoenix should have their number on this occasion.
