Olympics Day 13 tips, odds & predictions | August 8, 2024
The 2024 Paris Olympics Games continue this Thursday with plenty of medals up for grabs. Here are our best bets for Day 13.
Marathon Swimming: Women’s 10km
Despite all the drama surrounding the condition of the Seine, Dutch swimmer Sharon van Rouwendaal remains the clear betting favourite for the women’s 10km swim. The 30-year-old won gold in Rio and silver in Tokyo, while she is also the two-time defending world champion. At $2.25 with top swimming bookmakers, back van Rouwendaal for the gold.

Soccer: Egypt vs Morocco Men’s Bronze Medal Match
It will all be on the line as African rivals Egypt and Morocco fight for their first-ever medals in this event. Morocco have been the highest-scoring team in the Games, while Egypt have scored in each of their past four matches. While under-23 football can be unpredictable, we can expect plenty of goal-mouth action in this clash, so get on both teams to score at $1.70 with leading soccer betting sites.
Both teams to score
Athletics: Women’s Long Jump Final
The women’s long jump final looks set to be a two-horse race between Germany’s Malaika Mihambo ($1.66) and the USA’s Tara Davis-Woodhall. While the German enters as the slight favourite, she fouled on two of her jumps in the qualifying round and finished second in her group. Davis-Woodhall is the 2024 indoor world champion and qualified with the furthest distance, so back her for the gold at $2.75 with top Olympics bookmakers.

Athletics: Men’s 110m Hurdles Final
After controversially cruising through his heat before qualifying via the repechage round, the USA’s Freddie Crittenden is right in the mix for the podium. While Grant Holloway ($1.05) is the runaway favourite, Crittenden has been the next-fastest runner in 2024 and set his personal best at the US Olympic Trials. In such a tight group, there is value in taking the 30-year-old to secure a medal at $3 with leading athletics bookmakers.

Hockey: Germany vs Netherlands Men’s Gold Medal Match
In a fierce European rivalry, the Netherlands face Germany for the gold. The Germans won when these sides met in the pool stage, but since that match they have been unimpressive, scraping by each of their last three matches by just one goal. On the other hand, the Dutch are the highest-scoring team in the Games and haven’t conceded in the knockout rounds, so back them in as favourites at $2.10 with Neds.
