NRL R16 teams: Storm regain Papenhuyzen amid Origin shuffle

With Game II of the 2024 State of Origin series around the corner, round 16 of the NRL Premiership features a slew of ins and outs.

While most teams lose their stars at this time of year, the Melbourne Storm have Ryan Papenhuyzen back in the No.1 jersey for Friday’s clash with the Dolphins in Brisbane.

Likewise, the Titans have named David Fifita to start in the second row when they take on the Warriors this Saturday on the Gold Coast.

The Canterbury Bulldogs could have a couple of late inclusions for their clash with the Roosters, as playmaker Drew Hutchison and star back-rower Viliame Kikau are both listed among the reserves.

On the flipside, the Chooks have made plenty of changes with Lindsay Collins, Angus Crichton, Spencer Leniu and Connor Watson all away for Origin II, although club captain James Tedesco will line up at fullback after losing his New South Wales spot.

The Sea Eagles have also been hit hard by Origin selection ahead of their bout with the Rabbitohs on Sunday, while injuries to Reuben Garrick and Taniela Paseka have not helped their cause.

Souths have been on the rise in recent weeks, but it will be interesting to see how they fare without Latrell Mitchell and Cameron Murray.
