India vs Australia match preview – 2023 Cricket World Cup
Next up in the packed ICC Men’s ODI World Cup 2023, New Zealand take on the Netherlands as they look to continue their hot start to the tournament.
New Zealand
Playing in the opening match of the tournament on Thursday, the New Zealand side put together a record-breaking performance, beating England by nine wickets. A strong bowling performance saw them take regular wickets throughout the innings, never allowing the English any momentum as they were kept to just 282. A shaky start to the chase saw a wicket fall in the second over before the Kiwis took over, with Devon Conway and Rachin Ravindra putting on a clinic as they chased down the total in 36.2 overs.
Finalists in 2023, New Zealand will have their hopes set on going all the way this year and couldn’t have asked for a better start.
Netherlands
The Netherlands faced Pakistan in their opening match of the tournament, going down by 81 runs. Expected to be underdogs in every match this tournament, the Dutch started the match strongly, taking 3-38 to start the innings. Holding Pakistan to just 286, there were thoughts of an upset, but regular wickets in the chase never allowed the Netherlands to get going, as they were eventually bowled out for 205. A player to watch in the rest of the tournament, all-rounder Bas de Leede was very impressive for the Dutch, taking 4-62 as well as scoring 67 with the bat.
With the short turnaround between each match, limited changes to the sides are expected as both teams will be confident with their performances from the first match.

New Zealand vs Netherlands ICC World Cup Betting Tips
As New Zealand come in as heavy favourites, there is little value in this, and as such, we look at potential run-scoring and wicket-taking options.
Following their strong performance at the top of the order last match, we are expecting the top run scorer for New Zealand to come from one of their top four batsmen. After scoring 152* in the opener, Devon Conway looks like he best bet at +250 with top bookmakers.
Top scoring for the side throughout their qualifiers, Netherlands opener Vikram Singh continued his good form with 52 against Pakistan. We are backing him to be the top scorer for the Netherlands at +400 with Neds.
Following an impressive bowling effort from New Zealand in their opener, it was all-rounder Mitch Santner who impressed the most, taking 2/37 from his 10 overs. Known for frustrating batsmen and drawing out mistakes, he shows great value as the top New Zealand wicket taker at +400 with Dabble.
