A-League Week 24 multi
JUST four weeks until the finals roll around, but the hunt for spots in the final six could be over by the completion of round 24.

The Western Sydney Wanderers face a tough match up against Melbourne City on Friday night, but a win at home could see them claim an eight point advantage over the seventh placed Wellington Phoenix, which would all but solidify the top-six.

Last week’s prolonged weekend of action was a great one for us after we got a $5.54 return on our multi, and this week we are looking to repeat the dose.

All odds for the 24th week of the A-League season were provided by Sportsbet.com.au.

Western Sydney Wanderers vs. Melbourne City

Friday, March 24 from 7.50 pm AEDST Spotless Stadium, Sydney

The Western Sydney Wanderers are looking to cement their position in the top-six on Friday night as they host Melbourne City.

The Wanderers all but sealed their finals spot after their strong 3-1 over the Phoenix on Sunday, but another victory could put the unlikely scenario that Wellington could leapfrog Western Sydney out of the equation.

City backed up their hard fought 3-2 win over the Mariners by smashing the Jets 4-0 last week. Melbourne simply needs to keep winning if they are to maintain their third placed position given there is just four points between them and the fifth placed Glory.

The Wanderers are desperate to win to keep the finals flame alight. They should prove too strong for City who have been the definition of inconsistent this season.

Western Sydney Wanderers to win – $2.50

Brisbane Roar vs. Melbourne Victory

Saturday, March 25 from 7.50 pm AEDST, Suncorp Stadium, Brisbane

The second placed Victory host fourth placed Roar in what looms as the match of the round.

Melbourne is looking to win four games from their last five. Their last match was against the Glory two weeks ago where they smashed the visitors 4-1 at AAMI Park.

The Roar’s last match was disappointing 2-1 loss to the wooden spoon favourites the Adelaide Reds. They will be looking to bounce back at home after the shock loss.

The Victory are well rested after a fortnight’s break which spells trouble for the Roar. We are backing the visitors to take this one out.

Wellington Phoenix vs. Newcastle Jets

Sunday, March 26 from 5 pm AEDST, Westpac Stadium, Wellington, New Zealand

It is do-or-die for Wellington on Sunday as they look to bridge the gap between themselves as the sixth placed Western Sydney.

The Phoenix could be eight points adrift of a finals position by Sunday so a win is vital if the Kiwis are to play finals in 2017.

The big bonus is the ‘Nix are playing a team that has taken just two points from their previous six matches in the form of the Newcastle Jets.

Compound that by the fact that Wellington is undefeated in their last two matches against Newcastle and it is hard to see how the home side loses this one.

The Phoenix have to win this one and we think they will.

Wellington Phoenix to win – $2.55

Perth Glory vs. Sydney FC

Sunday, March 19 from 7 pm AEDST, NIB Stadium, Perth

The league leading Sydney FC travel to the country’s west to face the Glory in the final match of round 24.

After their shock loss to the Wanderers a month ago the Sky Blues are yet to drop a point, conceding just one goal across three matches.

Perth is looking to bounce back after registering just one point from their last two matches. Last time out they were hammered by the Victory 4-1.

The visitors are looking to extend a terrific run against the home side on Sunday.

Sydney FC has won their last three games against the Glory and there is no reason to think they will make it four straight against their opponents.

We are backing the Sky Blues to bring us home in style from across the Nullarbor.

Sydney FC to win – $2.10
