Knights vs Storm NRL betting preview
The Newcastle Knights put together two impressive away trips to Campbelltown which saw their NRL Premiership odds go from $19 to $13 after last week’s win over Canberra.
They get another huge test this Saturday as they look to secure their first win over the Melbourne Storm since 2015 and will start as $2.30 outsiders at their new home ground in Gosford.
Newcastle are similar to Penrith in the fact they have won games against questionable opposition, but a 16-point win over the premiership favourites at the time has seen punters give the Knights a huge vote of confidence.
They will be without first-choice five-eighth Kurt Mann after he rolled his ankle in round four, so coach Adam O’Brien will consider Tex Hoy, Phoenix Crossland or the more experienced Mason Lino to partner Mitchell Pearce in the halves.

We can expect Newcastle to bomb the Storm’s right edge constantly in search of Edrick Lee, who might be a good shout for first try scorer given Melbourne’s Suliasi Vunivalu is prone to nerves when put under pressure.
The Storm looked extremely frustrated with their performance against Canberra two weeks ago, but they bounced back in a professional manner against South Sydney.
While many see it as a big test for the Knights, one could argue it’s also a good test for Craig Bellamy’s side, who will need to find a new halfback after Jahrome Hughes broke his hand.
Will Cooper Johns, the son of Knights legend Matthew, earn an NRL debut, or will they look to move Cameron Smith to halfback and start Brandon Smith at hooker?
Both teams have showed resilience in defence at times this season, so the over/under line of 40.5 feels a little too high.
