Jabali Ridge to head to Diamond Prelude
Flemington winner Jabali Ridge will be given the chance to earn a late entry to the Blue Diamond.
Flemington winner Jabali Ridge will be given the chance to press his claims for a Blue Diamond late entry when he heads to the Prelude for colts and geldings at his next start.
Trained by Mick Price and Michael Kent jr, Jabali Ridge scored a two-length victory over 1000m at Flemington on Saturday at his second start, a performance Price felt warranted looking at better races.
The gelding was a close second at Flemington last month on debut in a race won by subsequent Magic Millions Classic placegetter Conceited.
By 2014 Blue Diamond runner-up Jabali who was trained by Price, Jabali Ridge is not among entries for the $1.5 million Group One Blue Diamond (1200m) at Caulfield on February 22 and connections need to pay $55,000 to run.
“What we’ll do with him is probably send him down to Monomeith on the water walker for a few days to have a little freshen-up then give him a little trial before the 1100-metre Prelude on February 8,” Price told RSN927
“And then into the Blue Diamond two weeks later if we get the right information on the 8th.

“I think we’ll run in the 1100-metre race and then see what happens.”
Magic Millions Classic winner Away Game will be aimed at the Golden Slipper in Sydney in March with one lead-up run yet to be decided.
Away Game made it two wins from her three starts with victory at the Gold Coast on Saturday in the $2 million race.
“She will be one run into the Slipper,” co-trainer David Eustace said.
“Whether it’s the Silver Slipper leading in we can work that out. She will have a few easy days and then look towards the Slipper.”
Away Game is on the second line of an early market for the Golden Slipper at $15 behind Golden Gift winner Dame Giselle ($11).
