Injury crisis hits NRL as Manu, Coates, Gosiewski sidelined
Sydney Roosters centre Joseph Manu will be out of action for a month due to two hand fractures he suffered during the win against the Wests Tigers on Sunday.
The injury occurred while he was fending off Adam Doueihi, and Manu is scheduled to undergo surgery.
Coates to miss Origin
Melbourne Storm winger Xavier Coates will miss the Origin decider following a hamstring injury sustained in the NRL victory over the Raiders on Saturday.
Scans revealed a low-grade tear, putting him out for six to eight weeks.
Gosiewski to miss rest of normal season
Broncos back rower Jack Gosiewski broke his arm in Saturdays match against the Warriors, ruling him out for an estimated two months.
Prop Fletcher Baker is awaiting results for knee ligament damage, with projections indicating a 4-6 week recovery period.
State of Origin injury updates
On another note, Tom Trbojevic is slated to make his comeback from a hamstring injury for Manly in Round 18 against the Cowboys; however, after New South Wales put on a stellar performance in Game 2, it will be unlikely he will secure a spot in the team.
The Maroons have also received good news, with Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow cleared of any shoulder injury and expected to play in the State of Origin decider in Brisbane on July 17.
