Free betting tips for the Round 12 NRL multi of the week
STATE of Origin is just a week away, which means there are a multitude of teams who have the weekend of NRL off.
We only have four games to choose from this weekend, which has meant we have had to work extremely hard to find the value, but we think we have got a multi this weekend which will deliver a tasty dividend.
All odds this week are provided by Sportsbet.com.au, which continue to provide a fantastic inducement for those looking to open a new account.
New customers can get their first bet at Sportsbet matched up to the value of $501.
Round 12 NRL Multi of the week:
Brisbane to defeat West Tigers ($1.25)
St George Illawarra to defeat North Queensland ($1.72)
Canterbury to beat Canberra ($2.30)
Parramatta to beat Newcastle ($1.35)
Combined multi value: $6.67 @ Sportsbet.com.au
Brisbane vs. Wests Tigers
Friday, May 27 from 8pm at Suncorp Stadium, Brisbane
Round 12 kicks off at Suncorp Stadium this Friday as the Broncos host the Tigers.
The Broncos lost narrowly to the Cowboys last week, which saw the ladder leaders drop from first to third.
The Tigers recorded just their fourth win of the season against the Knights last round, keeping their faint finals hopes ($11 at Sportsbet to finish in the eight) intact.
Brisbane have a raft of stars unavailable due to State of Origin commitments.
Darius Boyd, Corey Oates, Corey Parker, Sam Thaiday, Matt Gillett and Josh McGuire are all selected to be part of the Queensland camp – comprehensively gutting Brisbane’s best squad.
One player the Broncos still have is superstar Anthony Milford, who is at the generous price of $9 to score the opening try on Friday night, and given Sportsbet.com.au are running a cash back special on the first try scorer market for this match, we are jumping aboard.
The Tigers are not without their selection worries given Robbie Farah and Aaron Woods will suit up for the Blues, and while James Tedesco has shaken off his shoulder injury, he is not expected to be rushed back for the match against Brisbane.
The Broncos will field a team of relative no-names but they are a well drilled team from top-to-bottom and should be far too strong for bottom four Wests Tigers.
Multi tip: Brisbane Broncos to win – $1.25
St George Illawarra vs. North Queensland
Saturday, May 28 from 7.35pm at WIN Sports Stadium, Wollongong
The fourth-placed North Queensland, minus its best player, travel to Wollongong to play the Dragons, who have a host of players returning from injury.
St George lose Josh Dugan to State of Origin commitments, but regain playmaker Benji Marshall, who will be a huge boost for the home side.
The Cowboys are without a number of their key players including the game’s best player, Johnathan Thurston.
The game will be a fascinating battle between a side that has been incredibly erratic and an outfit that is missing a number of their best players.
If the Dragons want to play finals this season these are the games they need to win, and we are backing them on Saturday.
Multi tip: St George Illawarra Dragons to win – $1.72
Canberra vs. Canterbury
Sunday, May 29 from 4.05pm at GIO Stadium, Canberra
If last year’s crazy matchup is anything to go by, the Raiders Bulldogs game this weekend will not only be the match of the round, it could be the contest of the season.
The Raiders and the Dogs are coming off comfortable wins and will be looking to keep that momentum rolling into this weekend.
Both teams go in relatively unscathed after the State of Origin representative squads were named, which bodes for a terrific contest.
The Dogs have only visited the stadium twice in their existence, and both times they have come away as the victors.
We are backing the away side here to get the job done here, which will keep them in firmly in contention for a top-four finish.
Multi tip: Canterbury to win – $2.30
Newcastle vs. Parramatta
Monday, May 30 from 7pm at Hunter Stadium, Newcastle
It is a battle of the bottom on Monday night at Hunter Stadium as the Knights host the Eels.
Since the Parramatta scandal broke and the team was stripped of all premiership points, the side has failed to record a victory – losing narrowly to South Sydney and getting locked out be the Storm in consecutive weeks.
The Knights have been woeful in the last three weeks, scoring just 12 points in between two scoreless games.
Newcastle is the $1.17 favourites to have the most losses in season 2016 – a bet that seems like a formality.
The Knights are a basket case, and while the Eels’ finals chances are probably out of reach ($21.00 at Sportsbet to finish inside the top eight) they should register their first legitimate points of season 2016.
Multi tip: Parramatta to win – $1.35
