Fa’asuamaleaui’s season ends with ACL rupture against the Bulldogs
Gold Coast Titans captain Tino Fa’asuamaleaui’s NRL season has come to an end due to an ACL knee injury suffered in the recent game against the Canterbury Bankstown Bulldogs.
The scans conducted on Sunday confirmed the news, revealing the extent of the 24-year-old player’s injury sustained during Round 3.
The club has confirmed that Fa’asuamaleaui, who is understandably upset about this setback, will now concentrate on working with experts to plan his recovery journey.
The incident occurred in the closing minute of the Titans disappointing 32-0 loss to the Bulldogs, prompting medical attention and further examinations.
While Gold Coast Titans coach Des Hasler refrained from speculating on the nature of Fa’asuamaleauis injury in his match remarks, he mentioned that it involved his knee and could potentially range from MCL to ACL damage.
This recent blow adds to the challenges faced by the Titans at the beginning of this season, which has already seen them suffer defeats against both the Bulldogs and the St. George Illawarra Dragons.
With key players like Jayden Campbell and David Fifita dealing with injuries, Fa’asuamaleau’s absence poses a hurdle for the team’s hopes of making it to the finals under Hasler’s leadership.
Fa’asuamaleaui’s injury is a setback for the Queensland Maroons chances of winning their third State of Origin series in a row.
He is now out alongside Tom Gilbert, from the Dolphins, both sidelined with ACL injuries.
The Gold Coast Titans are currently a $2.15 chance to defeat the Dolphins in round 4 with the leading NRL betting sites.
