Dortmund start Champions League campaign with thumping victory
Borussia Dortmund launched their Champions League campaign by thumping Belgian side Club Brugge 3-0 on Wednesday night at Jan Breydel Stadium in Bruges.
A slow-burning affair for majority of the encounter, the match finally burst into life with 14 minutes left after Dortmund took the lead through English winger Jamie Bynoe-Gittens.
The 20-year-old added his second of the night 10 minutes later, before Guinean forward Serhou Guirassy converted a penalty to wrap up a fine performance for Nuri Sahin’s men in Belgium.
Dortmund return to domestic action on Sunday, where they will face VfB Stuttgart, who were beaten 3-1 by Real Madrid on Tuesday night.
