Collingwood suffer injury blow to tough midfielder
Collingwood vice-captain Taylor Adams has suffered a low-grade hamstring injury at training on Friday morning.
Magpies General Manager of Football Graham Wright confirmed the injury and said his rehabilitation would begin immediately, in hope of being available for a grand final.
Collingwood is the $2.50 AFL premiership favourite with online bookmakers, and has some depth in their midfield, with Brownlow Medal favourite Nick Daicos set to return from injury for their preliminary final, either against GWS or Port Adelaide.
“It’s unfortunate to confirm that Taylor Adams has sustained a low-grade hamstring strain during our training session held yesterday evening.” Wright saod.
“The positive is that it is only a minor strain.”
Collingwood’s challenges are far from over, as they gear up to confront either Port Adelaide or GWS at the iconic MCG in the preliminary final. The Power and the Giants are set to lock horns at Adelaide Oval this Saturday evening.
The other preliminary final fixture was decided on Friday night, with Carlton set to clash with Brisbane next Saturday night, after the Blues heart-stopping win over Melbourne. It will be the Blues first preliminary final in over two decades.
