Round 18 preview: Canterbury Bulldogs v New Zealand Warriors
The Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs are stunning the NRL with their form this season, and they’ll look to continue their winning ways when they host the New Zealand Warriors for round 18 this Saturday night.
The Bulldogs have won four of their last five matches to surge into fifth place on the NRL ladder, with a chance to return to the top four for the first time in years. Victories over the Sharks, Knights and Dragons in recent weeks should hold them in good stead to take down the Warriors.
The visitors have won four of their last six matches, and their win over the Broncos in Auckland last weekend may be a sign of a return to better form. In the 13th spot in the ladder, the Wahs have their work cut out to earn a finals berth.
Coach Andrew Webster has resisted calls for major selection shake-ups in his Warriors side. Captain Tohu Harris has been named to start at lock, with Dylan Walker selected on the bench in an otherwise unchanged line-up.
Bulldogs coach Cameron Ciraldo welcomes fullback Connor Tracey (concussion) back to the starting side, pushing Jacob Kiraz to the wing. Kurt Mann returns from suspension via the interchange, while Blake Taaffe and Jeral Skelton drop back to the reserves.

Bulldogs v Warriors R18 betting predictions
The Warriors have won each of their last five clashes with the Bulldogs, but the home side has won 15 of Canterbury’s last 16 matches. This Dogs outfit is vastly better than the previous sides the Warriors have faced, and with four of their last seven matches being decided by no more than four points, the Bulldogs are great value to win by 12 points or less at +190 with Neds.
The Warriors have trailed at half-time before going on to lose their last two matches, while the Bulldogs have led at the break before going on to win two of their last four games. Expect a strong start from the home side in this match before going on to win as they complete the half-time/full-time double (-114.94).
The form of Bulldogs captain Stephen Crichton this season has been a near career-best. He’s scored four tries in his last four matches for the Dogs and will have the challenge of taking on Warriors centre Roger Tuivasa-Sheck. Expect Crichton to step up as a big-game player and score a try (+140).
