A-League multi betting tips & bookie bonuses for week 27
THE teams left it until the very last round of the A-League season, but the finals are finally set.
Exactly who plays who in the finals this season will be decided this weekend, but one thing is for sure – this could be one of the more open A-League finals campaigns in recent memory.
Sydney FC go into the finals as deserved $1.90 favourites at Sportsbet.com.au to win the title, but the Victory, the Wanderers and the Roar have all shown at various times this season they have what it takes to hoist the trophy.
First thing’s first though, the final round of the regular season needs to be played, and given only two teams in the top-six play each other this weekend, we think it is a very safe investment to take the favourites in every other match.
Let’s get a winning dividend to round out the regular season.
All odds for the final regular season A-League fixture were provided by Sportsbet.com.au.
Selections for the week 27 A-League multi:
Melbourne Victory to beat Central Coast Mariners ($1.33)
Sydney FC to defeat Newcastle Jets ($1.25)
Western Sydney Wanderers to beat Adelaide United ($2.30)
Brisbane Roar to win against the Wellington Phoenix ($1.61)
Combined multi value: $6.15 @ Sportsbet.com.au
Melbourne Victory vs. Central Coast Mariners
Friday, April 14 from 7.50 pm AEST, AAMI Park, Melbourne
The second placed Victory host the third from the bottom Mariners in a game that the home side will be looking to win after three fruitless weeks in the A-League.
The Mariners were stylish winners against the Jets last week, but Newcastle look to be treading water into the latter stages of the season.
The Victory have taken just one point from their last three matches, but are looking to maintain a sensational record against the Mariners.
The big V have won nine of the last 11 matches against the men in canary yellow and drawn twice. If there is one team in the competition that they dominate, it is the Mariners.
We expect that trend to continue. Back the big V in to win en route to a huge finals campaign.
Melbourne Victory to win – $1.33
Sydney FC vs. Newcastle Jets
Saturday, April 15 from 5.35 pm AEST, Allianz Stadium, Brisbane
The premier’s plate winning Sky Blues host the dismal Jets in what looks like the biggest foregone conclusion this weekend.
The Jets just seem to be playing out the minutes until the end of the season while the Sky Blues have biggest fish to fry heading into what could be their most important finals campaign in franchise history.
Sydney FC is also looking to maintain a sensational record against their opponents.
Sydney is undefeated across their last 12 games against Newcastle and has kept seven clean sheets in that time frame.
We are backing the Sky Blues to light up their opponents and record a comfortable win.
Sydney FC to win – $1.25
Adelaide United vs. Western Sydney Wanderers
Saturday, April 15 from 7.20 pm AEST, Coopers Stadium, Adelaide
The A-League’s reigning premiers play their last game of the 2016/17 season as they host the finals bound Wanderers at Coopers Stadium.
The Wanderers are looking to maintain a healthy run against the Reds. Western Sydney has lost just once to Adelaide in their last six meetings.
Adelaide also had an ACL fixture midweek to contend with, and we think that will take its toll on Saturday night.
We are backing the Wanderers to take some winning form into the finals, condemning the Reds to the indignity of a home loss in the final game of their title defence.
Western Sydney Wanderers to win – $2.30
Brisbane Roar vs. Wellington Phoenix
Sunday, April 16 from 5 pm AEST, Suncorp Stadium, Brisbane
Final match of the round sees the finals bound Roar facing off against the finals-less Phoenix at Suncorp Stadium in a match that is a borderline must-win for the home side.
While their finals position is assured, the Roar could finish as high as third or as low as fifth to round out the season. Locking down a home final is vital for a team that has struggled on the road at times throughout this campaign.
The Roar will have to overturn a poor run of form against the visitors however. Brisbane has not won the last three meetings between the sides.
We think that will change on Sunday. The win means so much more to the Roar and they will find a way to maintain their position inside the top four and to round out our multi in a winning way.
