2024 AFL Finals set after thrilling final week of regular season
The 2024 AFL Finals series lineup has been officially determined after the conclusion of the regular AFL season matches.
The Western Bulldogs secured sixth spot with a 37-point win against the GWS Giants in Ballarat on Sunday afternoon.
Meanwhile Carlton narrowly pipped Fremantle for eighth spot, after both teams were beaten over the weekend.
In a turn of events, Carlton seemed on the brink of securing their spot as they held the lead at Marvel Stadium with more than two minutes left. However, St. Kilda’s Jack Higgins last second goal sealed an 11.10 (76) to 11.8 (74) victory for the Saints.
Carlton’s fate hinged on Port Adelaide’s showdown with Fremantle at Optus Stadium, with a win for the Dockers meaning it would have been curtains for the Blues, but the Power produced a gutsy performance to stitch up second on the ladder and book a home final.
With the AFL Finals now set, the top AFL bookmakers have updated the odds for which team will win the 2024 AFL Grand Final (Odds courtesy of Neds):
