The Los Angeles Rams and Cincinnati Bengals are set to meet in Super Bowl LVI this Monday at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles. After two thrilling weeks of playoff football in the Divisional and Conference rounds, football fans and bettors are expecting a competitive and exciting game between these two teams in the Super Bowl.

Los Angeles Rams (-4) vs Cincinnati Bengals (+4)

Down 17-7 heading into the fourth quarter against a San Francisco 49ers team that had beaten them six straight times, it looked as though the postseason was about to come to an end for the Los Angeles Rams (15-5-0). Instead, they pulled off the dramatic comeback, scoring a touchdown and two field goals in the final frame to come away with a 20-17 victory in the NFC Championship Game. The Rams enter the Super Bowl with an 8-1 record (that comes to 6-2 against the spread) over their last nine games.

The Cincinnati Bengals (13-7-0) upset the Kansas City Chiefs for the second time in their last five games in the AFC Championship Game, erasing a 21-3 deficit to send it to overtime before eventually winning 27-24 as seven-point road underdogs. The Bengals improved to 6-1 (7-0 ATS) over their last seven games, which is made even more impressive by the fact that the Bengals were underdogs in five of those seven games. The team’s only loss over that stretch came to the Cleveland Browns when Joe Burrow and a handful of other key starters were resting in the team’s regular season finale.

Super Bowl analysis & game predictions

There are so many signs pointing to taking the Bengals as four-point underdogs here. As mentioned above, the Bengals have not only covered the spread in their last five games as the underdog with online bookmakers, but they’ve won all four of them with their starters active outright. And those wins have come against Kansas City (twice) and the AFC-leading Tennessee Titans. Meanwhile, the Rams have had four of their last five games decided by a field goal or less. Even if Los Angeles does win outright, a close game seems pretty likely.

Despite all of this, we lean towards the Rams winning and covering the spread in this one. This Rams defense will be the best one that Cincinnati has seen yet. And while this won’t be a true home game for the Rams, the fact that they get to play in their home town and home stadium and sleep in their own beds this week is a huge advantage. The fact that Los Angeles went to the Super Bowl three seasons ago will also make the Rams less likely to be affected by the media circus surrounding the game.

Look for a competitive game in Super Bowl LVI, but when the dust settles and the confetti rains down, expect to see the Rams having won by a touchdown or more.

Rams vs Bengals Super Bowl prop pick

Odell Beckham Jr has seen his production go up in each game this postseason, recording 54 receiving yards against Arizona, 69 receiving yards against Tampa Bay and 113 receiving yards against San Francisco. Ja’Marr Chase has gone in the opposite direction with 116 yards against Las Vegas, 109 yards against Tennessee and 54 yards against Kansas City. Most importantly, Chase will be the main focus of the Rams’ defensive schemes, while Beckham Jr will be the Rams’ second-best option behind Cooper Kupp. Chase is the more explosive player, but the signs point to Beckham Jr finishing with more receiving yards.
