Fremantle Dockers: Won over Brisbane, 73-72
Kickstarting the Saturday AFL fixture will be the Collingwood Magpies and the Fremantle Dockers at the MCG.
Collingwood has won its last seven matches by an average margin of over 26 points, including three matches that exceeded 39 points.
Ross Lyon and the Dockers have worked hard to stay inside the top eight but have only won five matches for the season.
The chemistry between Jesse Hogan and the other Fremantle Dockers forwards has been questionable at times, as he has only kicked eight goals in nine matches.
Fremantle has also ruled out Matt Taberner for the season after he underwent surgery on his left foot, leaving room for other key forwards to step up for the Perth-based club.
Collingwood has not lost to the Dockers since 2016, winning the last four matches by an average of six goals.
If the Pies wins this match they have the opportunity to sit atop the ladder, whilst the Dockers would be hoping to sit just outside the top four before their bye next week.
Collingwood vs Fremantle Round 11 player disposals tips
Scott Pendlebury to get 30 disposals @ $2 at Sportsbet
Scott Pendlebury is having a season to remember, averaging the second most disposals at the Magpies, behind only the league leader Adam Treloar. Pendlebury has played in Collingwood’s last three matches against the Dockers, notching exactly 30 disposals in all three games. With Brodie Grundy in brilliant form, Pendlebury will be getting plenty of disposals this Saturday.
Bradley Hill to get 25 disposals @ $1.91
Freo’s super-fit speedster has made a name for himself playing on the wing. Bradley Hill knows how to run and has found more of the footy this year than in previous seasons. Last week he had 31 disposals and essentially won the match for Fremantle. Back in 2017 Hill had a massive 35 disposals against the Pies and could do it again this week.
Magpies vs Dockers Round 11 total goals betting
Collingwood Magpies to kick over 14.5 goals @ $2.04
With Jordan De Goey and Travis Varcoe set to return for the Magpies, the forward half is going to be back to its dynamic best. In round 11 last season the Pies kicked 21 goals against the Dockers, which will more than likely happen again.
Fremantle Dockers to kick under 8.5 goals @ $2.17
The Dockers have struggled with the MCG for a few seasons now. As this will be their first trip there in 2019, they could suffer at the hands of the Collingwood interceptors. Jeremy Howe and Darcy Moore will be a handful for the Dockers, who have bombed the ball long to their key forwards for most of the season. If there is rain, it could be even less likely that they kick nine goals.
Collingwood vs Fremantle match predictions
Match Result: Collingwood Magpies to win @ $1.16 at Sportsbet
Line Betting: Collingwood Magpies -32.5 @ $1.90
The second-placed team on the AFL ladder will not lose on its home deck to a visiting interstate side. The Pies have all the right qualities to beat the Dockers, including the best ruckman in the competition in Brodie Grundy, who will give Rory Lobb a lesson.
