Philpot’s funeral on Sunday will come a day before the life of veteran hoop Roger Booth is celebrated at Mornington Racecourse.
Booth’s family has asked for donations to the National Jockeys Trust in lieu of flowers.
The 55-year-old collapsed shortly after riding in a race at Darwin’s Fannie Bay racecourse on July 1 before having a suspected major heart attack in Darwin Hospital.
The Territory track will mark his death with the running of the Roger Booth Memorial Handicap over 1100m on Saturday.
