“It’s just such a thrill. I’m almost speechless.

“I fell off her (Wildflower) on Wednesday when she shied at some kangaroos but I was confident she would handle the distance and the wet track today.”

Ridden by Jay Ford, Wildflower ($12) was in touch with the leaders throughout and took control in the straight.

She kept going to the line to finish 1-1/2 lengths in front of Loving Home ($31) with race leader Birds Of Tokyo ($8.50) third a half neck away.

“It’s a great result and I’m so happy to do it for Emma and Lucy,” Ford said.
