NRL Round 11 Preview: Tigers v Dolphins
Magic Round for the 2024 NRL Premiership season concludes with a battered and bruised Wests Tigers outfit taking on a resurgent Dolphins side at Suncorp Stadium.
The Dolphins have won two of their last three matches in narrow fashion over the Cowboys and Sea Eagles to climb from 6th into the top four on the NRL ladder, with a win needed here to solidify their position.
The Tigers have struggled since beating the Eels in round four this season, and a loss on Sunday could put them at risk of falling into last place on the ladder.
Wests Tigers coach Benji Marshall will be without Isaiah Papali’i (suspension), John Bateman (pectoral), and Starford To’a (hamstring) this Sunday. Brent Naden will play in the centres with Solomon Alaimalo coming onto the wing. Alex Seyfarth will start in the second row with Alex Twal at lock, with Asu Kepaoa and Sione Fainu being added to the interchange bench.
Dolphins coach Wayne Bennett has lost lock Max Plath (concussion) for a week with Kenneath Bromwich named as his replacement. Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow (hamstring) will be welcomed into the fullback, in an otherwise unchanged line-up.

Wests Tigers v Dolphins Round 11 Predictions
The Tigers’ poor form, coupled with the Dolphins’ back-to-back wins and the return of “The Hammer” has seen the competition’s newest side backed from $1.35 into $1.25 with the top Australian bookmakers.
The Dolphins’ form at night has been brilliant, winning six of their last seven matches, with the Tigers failing to cover the line in five of their last six. Having not won since round four and their injuries piling up, the Tigers are showing no signs of a positive outcome soon. Backing the Dolphins to win by 13+ points is the smartest bet in this match at +105 with Unibet.
The Dolphins have shown in recent weeks that they can struggle to score points, and the return of Tabuai-Fidow could disrupt their attacking rhythm. Meanwhile, the Tigers have failed to score more than 14 points in each of their last five games, with their last eight matches finishing below the total points line. Expect both sides to struggle at points in the match with less than 45.5 points scored (+100).
Herbie Farnworth made a strong return to the NRL last weekend with six tackle breaks, two offloads, and 161 running metres. He’s playing the Tigers at a great time as a player who’s scored a try in five of his last six clashes with sides ranked in the bottom four on the ladder. There is value with Neds in the +130 price for him to score a try.
