Melbourne will be looking to strengthen their position inside the top eight on Sunday afternoon as they travel across to Optus Stadium for their clash against West Coast in round 10 of the AFL season.
Coming in as heavy favourites on the road, the Demons are at $ 1.18 with bet365, while the Eagles are outsiders at $5.25. The Eagles-Demons handicap is set at 29.5 points.
Last Thursday, the Demons suffered their third loss of the season as they fell to Carlton by one point at the MCG. After conceding the first six goals of the match, Simon Goodwin’s side turned the game around in the second half, but ultimately fell just short. Midfielder Christian Petracca nearly single-handedly carried his side over the line, with 21 disposals and five goals in one of the most impressive performances of the season.
Despite the loss, the Demons remain inside the top four on percentage and remain one of the favourites for the AFL Premiership with AFL betting sites.
The Demons will be forced into at least two changes, with forward pair Jacob van Rooyen (concussion) and Daniel Turner (calf) both injured against the Blues. Veteran Ben Brown is expected to return to the side, while Christian Salem is also in the mix.
The Eagles lost to Collingwood by 66 points on Sunday. After kicking the first goal of the game, it was all downhill for the Eagles as they lost every quarter, while kicking just five goals for the day.
With their third successive loss, the Eagles have now dropped to 16th on the ladder. While they impressed with a pair of wins in rounds five and six, they are now back to the form that was expected as the pre-season betting favourites for the wooden spoon.
In a major boost, the Eagles are set to regain leading goal kicker Jake Waterman, while experienced pair Elliot Yeo and Jeremy McGovern are also a test.
