US Open 2024 women’s outright tips, value picks & predictions
The best of the best on the WTA Tour will fight it out over the coming two weeks at the US Open in New York. We look at the latest betting odds from bookmaker Marantelli Bet and outline our top picks for the women’s draw ahead of the first round.
Aryna Sabalenka
While she looked shaky in her first two events back from a break, last week’s performance in Cincinnati — where she thrashed world No.1 Iga Swiatek, then ran away with the final against Jessica Pegula — showed that Aryna Sabalenka is back to her brutal best. With a hardcourt Grand Slam under her belt already, Sabalenka is primed to add another in New York.

Jessica Pegula
After slipping out of the top five for the first time in several years, Pegula has burst into life this month with a title in Canada and another final in Cincinnati. The American has won nine of her last 10 matches and will take a lot of confidence into the year’s final Grand Slam.

Mirra Andreeva
With an Olympic medal and a Grand Slam semi-final to go with four wins over top-10 players in 2024, Mirra Andreeva continues adding to her resume. The Russian teenager has proved that big occasions do not phase her, as her biggest career win came against Sabalenka in a Grand Slam.

Jelena Ostapenko
Backing Jelena Ostapenko is always a risky endeavour — but if the mercurial Latvian finds form, she’s almost unbeatable. Just ask Swiatek, who she knocked out at last year’s US Open. Add in the fact that she has won a Grand Slam before, and the tennis bookies’ odds of $41 are beginning to look very appealing.

Paula Badosa
It’s been a challenging past two years of injuries for Paula Badosa, but the former world No.2 is showing promising signs that her best is not far away. The Spaniard won in Washington earlier this month and backed that up with a semi-final run in Cincinnati, so she could well be peaking at the perfect time for a strong showing at the US Open.
